HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR BALL BEARINGS?

Maintaining your ball bearings is no easy task. Today, Abdul Traders will try to make it easier for you by providing you with a simple, economical and efficient solution to cleaning your bearings and ball bearings.

First of all, it's good to know that you need to clean your bearings regularly in order to maintain optimal performance. In fact, in your ball bearings, a lot of dirt accumulates over time: this will interfere with the rotating movement of the balls. The bearing is then said to be seized. It won't be as effective as it used to be.

Before embarking on cleaning your ball bearings, you must equip yourself with certain tools:

             a spray of penetrating oil

             a fine needle

             a container

             a precision drill

a drill head with screw thread

             hard washers of different sizes

             screws and small nuts

People who are likely to be most interested in this article are those who skateboard. The frequency of cleaning therefore depends on your use and especially if you regularly change tracks or if you compete. Here is the procedure for maintaining ball bearings:

DISASSEMBLE THE BALL BEARINGS

You have to disassemble your bearing entirely, but especially delicately for each element. To remove the flange, for example, use a fine needle.

After removing one of the flanges, you must soak your bearing in the penetrating oil that you have previously poured into a small container. You will then see particles of dirt appear which will be scattered throughout the liquid. Remove the elements and then dry them on absorbent paper. In order to obtain an effective result, repeat the operation.

CREATE A BLOCKING SYSTEM

For each support, you must have several elements:

             a screw

             cups

             a nut

On the screw, you will place a bearing and the cups. The cups will come and maintain the bearing by putting pressure on the inner rings. Finally, the nut will fix the first cup.

CLEANING WITH THE DRILL

Now you are going to attach the system you just mounted to the drill. Set at minimum power, the drill should run for 15 to 20 seconds with each bearing, so all impurities will be ejected.

THE REASSEMBLY

After performing the cleaning steps correctly, add a drop of oil to each bearing to reassemble it more easily and give it a second life!
